How do I do a battery check on my Cordless Grass Shears

Created by Chris McHale, Modified on Thu, 11 Jun at 10:43 AM by Chris McHale

Overview

If your cordless grass shears are not operating correctly, a simple battery check can help identify whether the issue is related to the battery charge, installation, or charger performance.

The battery includes a built-in test function to indicate remaining charge, and it must be correctly inserted into the tool to ensure proper operation. When charging correctly, the battery should also show a slight temperature increase, indicating that the charger is working as intended.

Step-by-Step Guide – Battery Check

Step 1: Check the Battery Charge

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
  • Press the test button located on the front of the battery.
  • Check the indicator lights:
    • Multiple lights = sufficient charge
    • Few or no lights = battery needs charging

Step 2: Check Battery Installation

  • Insert the battery into the grass shears.
  • Push firmly until you hear a definitive click.
  • The click confirms the battery is securely locked in place.
  • If no click is heard, remove and reinsert the battery.

Step 3: Confirm Proper Fit

  • Ensure the battery is fully seated and not loose.
  • Check that the contacts are clean and free from debris or damage.

Step 4: Check Charger Performance (If Charging)

  • Place the battery onto the charger.
  • Ensure the charger is connected to a working power outlet.
  • During normal charging, the battery should gradually warm up slightly.
    • This is normal and indicates the charger is functioning correctly.
